1 axis linear stages & actuators are available in multiple sizes using multiple technologies and form factors.  Models include actuators and stages that offer a wide variety of features and benefits.  Air-bearing motion systems offer your manufacturing process fast movement on a cushion of air, while using a variety of drive technologies such as servo motors and spindle drives for precision nanometer motion.

These 1 axis stages or actuators are ideal for large 1+ m travel, or even short-stroke operations of 8 mm. 

Air-bearings offer greater precision and accuracy than mechanical bearings, and exhibit minimal eccentricity (lateral runout) and wobble (pitch and roll).  Many of these products use amplifiers that are CANopen and EtherCAT compatible.  Click here to learn more about precision long & short travel integrated systems that use EtherCAT.  Two example EtherCAT compatible servo amplifiers are detailed at the bottom of this page.

Air-bearing systems are ideal for EUV chip manufacturing, surface finishing to <0.05 micron grinding tolerances, and metrology probe motion.

Short-Stroke Air-Bearing 1 Axis Stage

This small 1 axis stage uses an air-bearing for guidance and a voice coil for the drive motion.

Carbon Fiber Air-Bearing 1 Axis Stage

This stage features:

This 1 axis system incorporates an ironless linear motor and also has an integrated high-resolution measuring system.  The system is ideal for a focusing lens, a laser, or workpieces to be precisely positioned.  The system is suitable for clean room applications.

NEW 30˚ Air-Bearing 1 Axis Stage

This precision linear 1 axis air-bearing stage incorporates a low-cost aluminum stage.

  • Can handle loads up to 40 kg.
  • Max stroke is 230 mm.
  • Carbon fiber support table.
  • Cost-effective entry-level model for high precision.

This 1-axis stage is driven by an ironless linear motor and incorporates a high-resolution measuring system.  This system is ideal for positioning a lens, laser or a component with precision and without direct contact due to the air-bearing guidance system.

Linear Actuators – EC3 Series

These 1-axis actuators offer:

These ready-to-connect linear 1-axis systems are available with precisely matched drive components (servo motor and servo amplifier). Various options are available, e.g. various field bus interfaces (such as EtherCAT, CANopen, PROFIBUS, PROFINET or Ethernet), encoder types, holding brake and cable lengths. 

These actuators are fast, accurate positioning for inline inspection tasks, or high-precision pick & place of components on printed circuit boards.  Many other actuator models are available.

Direct Linear Motor Axis Stage

These 1-axis systems designed for dynamic and precise positioning offer:

  • Freely selectable stroke
  • Backlash-free travel
  • Position resolution of 1 µm
  • ISO Class 5 ready

This linear 1-axis stage is based on an iron-core linear motor. Equipped with precisely matched drive components (servomotor and servo amplifier), the axis is predestined for linear movements, which require high dynamics with high continuous forces.

These two 1-axis and 2-axis servo amplifiers are powerful and ideal for dynamic positioning – and they are EtherCAT compatible.  Additional features and benefits include:
