Stack & Ring Actuators
Piezo stack and ring actuators offer precise fast repeatable motion in a single axis. They have extremely long lifetimes, and some models are capable of moving very large masses.
They are ideal for positioning, dampening, as well as shake and shock material testing applications. Stack actuator motions are available up to 260 µm.
Ring actuators have the additional benefit of an aperture for light or objects to pass through them, which is ideal for microscopy, laser and other photonic applications. The aperture diameters available is either 9 mm or 14 mm, and either size offers a motion up to 130 µm.

Recommended Controllers for low-power piezo Stack & Ring Actuators
For single axis stack and ring actuators only a single channel of amplification is needed. There are two controllers recommended for most applications.
The analog 12V40 controller offers:

Recommended Controllers for high-power piezo Stack & Ring Actuators
For single high-power axis stack and ring actuators only a single channel of high-power amplification is needed. There are three controllers recommended to cover hpower specific actuators and applications.
For standard hpower stack and ring actuators, the HPA 1000-10 controller is recommended:
- High power for dynamic operations
- Max peak output current: 10 amps
- Piezo output voltage: 0 to 1000 V
- Noise: < 1 V peak-to-peak
- Small Signal bandwidth: 2 kHz
- For actuators with 1 µF capacity and higher
For hpower Shock actuators, the HVP 1000/200 controller is recommended:
- Fast-charge amplifier for pulse control and shockwave generation
- Output current: 200 amps
- Output voltage: +40 to 1000 Volts
- Alternative ohmic resistor for setting rise time
For hpower Shake actuators, the LE 150/100 EBW controller is recommended:
- Extremely high-bandwidth amplifier
- For high frequencies at low stroke/motion
- Ideal for hpower Shake actuators
- Maximum voltage of 150 Volts
- Maximum continuous current of 1 Amp
- Bandwidth of 70,000 Hz
